Who are we?
We are Blessid Union Of Souls' founder, songwriter and guitarist Jeff Pence, Blessid Union Of Souls' songwriter and studio musician Curt Benton, Thunder Head co-founder and drummer Roger Julien, and singer, songwriter and bassist Jeremy Mitchell. Everyone sings both lead and background.
Blessid Union Of Souls was an International recording group from the 90's with many hits on radio in the United States and most of Europe. They also had success in Australia and Asia. Their hits included #1 I Believe, top 10 Hey Leonardo (She Like's Me For Me), top 20 Let Me Be The One, top 20 I Wanna Be There, top 20 Light In Your Eyes, top 20 Oh Virginia and other radio hits That's The Girl, Standing At The Edge, All Along and Storybook Life. They made VH1 music videos for I Believe, Hey Leonardo, Let Me Be The One, I Wanna Be There and Oh Virginia. They performed on National and regional television including 5 performances on Regis and Kathy Lee. They were also on the Donnie and Marie Show, Happy Hour, Stephanie Miller, The Today Show, Conan O'Brian, Friday Night Videos, Top Of The Pops and many more. The performed shows for almost every CHR and Hot AC radio station in the United States. They were signed to SBK Records, EMI Records, Capitol Records, Push Records and V2 Records. Their music was featured in blockbuster movies Contact with Jodi Foster and Pet Detective When Nature Calls with Jim Carrey. They also performed in an episode of All My Children with Susan Lucci.
Blessid Union recorded many songs with piano, strings and acoustic guitar, but when they performed live there was a much more electric guitar influence by Jeff Pence. Blessid Thunder brings guitar to the forefront with a more blues rock sound with lots of drums to back it up. The band plays most of the Blessid Union radio hits along with a few more, and also pays tribute to the songs of groups they grew up on like ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Thin Lizzy, Bad Company and The Allman Brothers to name a few. They are currently recording new songs for an upcoming cd.
